• Planning and organisation of high alpine tours

• Nature and environment

• Orientation (map and alpenvereinaktiv app)
• Meteorology and alpine dangers
• Hiking technique in firn and ice (crampon techiques, ice axe techniques)
• Guiding groups and group dynamics
• Specific rope- and belaying techniques on rock and ice
• Rescue techniques on the glacier
• Update about gear and outdoor equipment
• Organization, basic law and insurance questions

Vorträge und Präsentationen, Plenum- und Kleingruppenarbeit, Praktische Übungen und Umsetzung, Reflexion und Feedback.

• Be a minimum of 16 years old
• Physiological and Psychological fitness
• practical knowledge in organizing and leading glacier tours
• Ability level (Easy climbing with mountaineering boots UIAA III+ and firnice and ice up to 50 degrees).
• Rope technique: overhand knot, clove hitch, munter hitch, figure 8, prusik, lark´s foot
• Be in good shape: ascents over 1000m in altitude in 3 hours without signs of exhaustion

 

Tour report requested when booking:
Please provide a list of 6 high alpine tours (peak, height, route) with at least 1.000 altitude meters with icy and rocky sections which you have done within the last 2 years. Please add name of your climbing partner and date (month, year).

 

For a course confirmation (confirmation of participation or certificate) the successful and complete participation is required.

Successful: Participants have achieved the desired educational goals.
·Complete: Participants were fully present and actively involved in all parts of the course (tolerance for absences not exceeding 1 h)
