The focus of the course is minimizing the risk when guiding a snowshoe group. The elementary training concerns emergency management in the case of an avalanche, as well as "Stop or Go©" strategy. We get you ready for guiding groups, route choice and finding, orientation, alpine weather and imparting the correct snowshoe technique.

Orientation (map, GPS and alpenvereinaktiv app)
Weather, snow and avalanche lessons (snow physics)
Backgroundinformations to the Stop or Go© strategy
Specific aspekts of avalanche accidents and rescuetechnique
Group dynamics processes and leading groups
Update about gear and outdoor equipment, organization, basic law and insurance questions

Arbeitsformen:

Lectures and presentations, plenary and small group work, practical exercises and implementation, reflection and feedback.

Voraussetzungen

Voraussetzung:

Be a minimum of 16 years old
Physiological and Psychological fitness
Experience in planning and leading snowshoe tours
Fitness: Be in good shape. 4 hours walking shouldn't cause any problem for you,
Fundamental knowledge about avalanche safety equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe)

Tour report requested when booking:

Please privode a list of 6 snowshoe tours (of at least 4 hours walking) that you have done within the last 2 years. Please addin case name of your partner and date (month, year).

For a course confirmation (confirmation of participation or certificate) the successful and complete participation is required.

Successful: Participants have achieved the desired educational goals.
Complete: Participants were fully present and actively involved in all parts of the course (tolerance for absences not exceeding 1 h)
